I HAVE BEEN PRAYING TO BE QUARANTINED, THIS IS WHY.

It came as a painful shock to me when we were told to self-quarantine ourselves.

Quarantine? Quarantine is used to separate and restrict the movement of people who appear to be well but who may have been exposed to a communicable disease and are isolated to see if they become ill. These people may have been exposed to a disease and do not know it, or they may have the disease but do not show symptoms. Quarantine can also help limit the spread of communicable disease. And the latter is the reason why we are asked to quarantine our own selves.

So what was I supposed to do when I craved momos or coffee from a roadside stall? STAY AT HOME? UNBELIEVABLE. But I had to, all of us have to.

So two days passed by and I felt like life was slowly turning into a summer vacation gone wrong. I vowed to fix it. How, you ask? Keep reading.

Start From Scratch

I soon realised that I have been praying for this kind of free time since I started my schooling. You guys have to agree that all of us have prayed for our schools to be shut, exams postponed, college classes to be cancelled and a life where we can work from home. I am not saying that this is all good but the silver lining that the child in me sees is just too hard to ignore. So after bathing in the glee that just dawned upon me I realised what I had to do.

  1. Join The 5 Am Club

I have been big on waking up early and setting up my routine so that I can live the perfect life. Mostly, it has been difficult because it messes up our sleep cycle, makes us grumpy at work or that means saying no to that one party where our crush is going to be. But, guess what? Now is the time. Start waking up an hour earlier from what you used to and then slowly bring it up to 5 AM. You may ask what am I supposed to do waking up early everyday given there’s not much to do for the time being.

2. Workout

I know that gyms are shut but isn’t that great? Nobody can see us ugly cry and/or get short of breath after ten push ups. So let’s use this time to make it 100 push ups!

I am kidding, lets make it 25 in the comfort of our homes! Download any workout app on your phone or freestyle dance for an hour. Make that booty move, no excuses this time. Give it your hundred percent! Make sure you get out of this quarantine/social distancing with this healthy habit as a part of your lifestyle.

3. Anxiety-Antidote

All of us have had nights of anxiety that has made us question our life. We experience emotional highs and lows and wonder how can we wake up happy everyday. We have had a solution with us for a while now but procrastination got the best of us.

MEDITATE. Sit down and take 30 deep breaths, every deep breath should be 6 seconds each.

Think of all the things that make you happy, imagine achieving your biggest goals, thank the universe for your life, health and happiness. And if you’re still confused as to how you can do it properly, book a health & mindfulness session with Ksenia Consultation.

4. Healthy Snack

Now is the time all of us can find healthy recipes and actually spend time trying it out to make the perfect meal plan. Find stuff on @satvicmovement and @shivesh17 to get started.

5. Read

Havent we all piled up books that we wanted to read since ages but who’s got the time? Lucky enough, now we do. Get started and read those books, make a checklist and finish these up before getting back to our old routine.

6. Ideate

All of us have had dreams, aspirations, ideas that we left in the pits of “someday”. Today is that day, seize the moment. This time is a gift, lets make the most of it.

7. Spend time with your loved ones!

Video call that friend you lost touch with, spend time with your family. Exploit group video calls, watch Netflix in groups, you can stream the same movie/show with your friends from different places; it’s called Netflix party. Google it and enjoy!

There is so much that we can do in this time of social distancing, start now. Start with you.

Share this with your friends and loved ones!
